Welcome to the 2014 B.C. Summer Reading Club!

Kids SRC 2014
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To join the Summer Reading Club, of course!

Jokes and cartoons, comic books and silly stories, mysteries and tales with a twist... this summer it's all about Funny Business!

Here at www.kidssrc.ca you'll find laugh-out-loud booklists, whacky colouring sheets, an awesome web quiz, and some hilarious jokes, including "What's a boomerang that doesn't come back?" (find the answer in the game for week 2: Funny People).

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To get a Reading Record, of course!

Calling all cartoonists, artists, joke-writers, readers, and kids who just like to have fun! This year's reading record is not only a place to record the great books you read, but also a cartoon strip and a joke book! Each panel has room for you to draw or write your answer to "Why did the chicken cross the road?" (And why the rabbit and the monkey and the tiger and the dog did, too!)

Add in some bookmarks, mix-and-match stickers, a poster where tigers ride bicycles, rabbits drive flying cars and chickens read joke books, and other prizes and treats, and you'll be ready to laugh yourself silly all summer long!

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To get a book of jokes from the library, of course!

Cross over to the funny side at your local library this summer and join the fun!

The BC Summer Reading Club is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association and your local public library with the assistance of Libraries Branch, Ministry of Education, and RBC Foundation.

The fun stuff...
